Contractor Nears Completion of Ramsey Office Building Renovation

A Jackson-based contractor is nearing completion of a major interior renovation at a 138,400-square-foot office building in Bergen County.

The firm, Magnico Contracting, says it is overseeing the first significant upgrades at 500 North Franklin Turnpike since its construction in 1988. Among other improvements, plans call for redesigned common areas and lobbies with LED lighting and custom finishes, while the third floor is being outfitted with a host of amenities designed to create a modern work setting.

The project will also result in a newly constructed third-floor corridor that will lead to an amenity center, which includes a large conference room, lounge, a 1,100-square-foot fitness center with locker rooms and showers and co-working spaces, Magnico said.

“The third floor is the crown of a top-to-bottom makeover that has transformed a dated office building into a modern complex suited to employers looking to attract high-value talent to an innovative and productive workplace,” said Moshe Braude, the firm’s CEO.

Magnico is working on behalf of Highstone Equity Group, which acquired the three-story Ramsey Office Centre in 2017. Since then, the landlord has attracted several new tenants, including accounting firm The Marchese Group, Opulence Funding and logistics specialists WWEX, which have signed leases for the third floor.

The building was previously anchored by UPS.

“Highstone has repositioned Ramsey Office Centre as a hub for companies at the vanguard of the business sector and we are delighted to have been part of that process,” Braude said.

The repositioning has also included new rooftop HVAC equipment and upgraded building management systems, according to a news release. Solar panels will be installed on the newly resurfaced roof.

The project team includes architect Jeffrey Barton, with interiors by The Designers Group.

“It has been a pleasure working with Magnico on this project,” Highstone Equity Group Principal Elazar Hamel said in a prepared statement. “Moshe’s attention to detail and continuous guidance throughout this process has been instrumental in bringing our vision to fruition.”
